CWS will be presenting its products and services for the first time with a new brand to an international trade public at this year's A+A fair, the trade forum for occupational health and safety. As system provider with six solution areas, CWS stands for one vision since April 2019: a healthier and safer tomorrow. Thanks to the company's strategic repositioning, together with the growing awareness of the importance of health and safety, 2018 saw CWS generate sales of over €1 billion for the first time.

The market for personal protective equipment (PPE) and workwear is as a whole on an upswing, seeing as more safety means less costs. Work absences due to accidents cost companies dearly. In Europe, for example, over three million serious occupational accidents occur every year. Against this background too, companies are becoming increasingly aware of their responsibility to help ensure enhanced safety and health. This also applies to the washrooms of companies and businesses because there, too, appropriate solutions contribute to the health of the employees and customers using them. Integrated hygiene solutions can restrict the transmission of infections and cut sickness rates. Regularly checked protective clothing can prevent accidents at work and thus contribute to workplace safety.

Green wave

CWS as system provider with six solution areas offers innovative, sustainable and digital rental solutions towards enhancing the health, safety and protection of its customers and their workforces under the motto Clean.Well.Safe. CWS is already today part of the circular economy: workwear and washroom equipment are rented out and subsequently prepared carefully. Moreover, CWS continuously optimises its cycle processes and has its focus firmly on sustainable innovations and products.

The CWS business model is a success: at EUR 1,141 million, CWS’ revenue in 2018 was up by 18 per cent year on year. Moreover, the health and safety professionals from Duisburg registered an operating result of EUR 140 million last year.

A+A: Innovations 2020

On this solid basis the company will now be exhibiting its products and services under the motto Clean.Well.Safe. at the A+A fair, the international trade forum for health and safety at work. CWS is already a pioneer in the field of fair-trade workwear with four collections, and the service provider will be using recycled polyester in a workwear range from next year onwards.

Besides this, CWS is now a member of wear2wear, the industrial partnership for sustainable clothing. This innovative partnership of companies has committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly operations and business practices. Each partner makes an individual contribution in a specific phase of the textile recycling process. The result is high-quality, responsible clothing: new functional apparel is manufactured using recycled textiles from across Europe. No waste is created; the textiles can be further utilised to make new, upcycled apparel products. Other partners include fabric manufacturer SympaTex, yarn manufacturer Carl Weiske and textile manufacturer Schoeller Textil. More information at www.wear2wear.org.

Hygiene and fire protection solutions

CWS will also be presenting selected hygiene and fire protection solutions at the A+A. The CWS skin protection program offers optimum protection and skin-friendly cleaning systems as rental service. With CWS SmartWash Plus, the system provider is exhibiting a system that literally makes correct handwashing – i.e. with soap – a sure thing. The CWS Fire Safety portfolio of exhibits at the A+A includes preventive fire protection solutions.

You will find CWS on Stand 5E32 in Hall 05 at the A+A, 5-8 November.
