CWS has made a very conscious decision to become an active member of ETSA, the leading European association for textile rental companies and national textile service associations in Europe. The association promotes the interests of its 35 members, fosters their networking and is committed to the further development of technologies and processes as well as the reduction of resource consumption.
In addition, ETSA sensitises companies and consumers to the connection between sustainability and rented textiles through its own public relations work.
Member companies commit to guidelines and codes of conduct based on or incorporating the principles of international organisations. These include for example
- the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Rights and Principles at Work
- the Children's Rights Business Principles; and
- the OECD Guidelines or the ICC Business Charter for Sustainable Development.
In addition, the member companies are certified according to international management systems such as ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management).
