Dreieich, 23 October 2025 – CWS Workwear, a leading provider of customised, long-lasting, and protective Workwear as a Service, will present its extended product range for personal protective equipment (PPE) at the A+A 2025 – the international trade fair for safety and health at work starting 4 November in Düsseldorf, Germany. CWS Workwear will showcase four new "Multinorm” collections that combine up to seven protection standards. Among them: “Safety Nomex® Light”, the first ever solution in the area of PPE that is not made with PFAS. Thus, CWS Workwear, is further expanding its portfolio for industries with particularly high and complex protection requirements.
Multifunctional solutions for complex working environments!
The new “Safety Multinorm” collections “Standard”,“Advanced” and “Premium” are made for workers that are exposed to various hazards within their daily work. Demand for flexible protective solutions is growing, particularly in sectors such as the chemical industry, energy supply, e-mobility and renewable energies.
The new “Multinorm” collection “Safety Nomex® Light” is the first ever made from a fabric that’s not made with PFAS and combines maximum protection with a noticeably light and comfortable wearing experience. “Safety Nomex® Light” offers protection against flames and chemicals in compliance with EN 13034 and was developed particularly for the demands of the oil, gas and chemical industry sectors. The fabric retains its certified protection capabilities even after 100 industrial washing cycles. It does not require re-treatment with water- and chemical-repellent finishes, making it exceptionally durable.
The basis of the collection is the innovative Nomex® Comfort with EcoForce™ finish made by DuPont™, which uses no fluorochemicals and is made of over 50 percent bio-based materials. Another sustainability aspect: DuPont™ relies on a local supply chain ecosystem in the EMEA region for the Nomex® Comfort with EcoForce™ finish to keep transport routes short and help reduce environmental impact.
The introduction of this collection makes CWS Workwear the first textile service provider in the DACH and BeNeLux region to offer a “Multinorm” solution that’s not made with PFAS.
“We see an increase in demand for flexible protection solutions,” explains Frederik Vereecke, Director Product Development & Innovation at CWS Workwear. “Our new Multinorm collections are available through our reliable rental service. These garments help our customers in protecting their employees consistently without having to change clothes as they move between different work areas.”
Sustainability as part of the product strategy
Complementary to the protective aspect, CWS Workwear incorporates sustainable materials into the new collections: the premium Multinorm collection contains 65 percent sustainable fibres, including recycled polyester fibres and cotton produced in accordance with the Cotton made in Africa© standard. This initiative supports approximately 900,000 farmers in sub-Saharan Africa through sustainable rain-fed agriculture, which reduces water consumption and does not use genetically modified seeds.
Solutions for specific work areas
In addition to the “Multinorm” collections, CWS Workwear is expanding its portfolio with two further innovations: The “Safety Welding 1 Advanced” collection combines welding protection with antistatic properties and ergonomic stretch elements for high-movement work. For good visibility in hazardous conditions, the “Safety HighVis Standard” class 2 high-visibility clothing features the new Duraclean finish, which repels dirt and stains more effectively, thus maintaining its warning effect for longer.
Expert care as a safety factor
A key element of the CWS Workwear “Workwear as a Service” approach is the standard-compliant processing of protective clothing. Professional cleaning is particularly important for “Multinorm” collections with several protective functions: using the wrong detergents or temperatures can permanently impair the protective effect. But CWS Workwear's comprehensive service concept goes beyond just washing; after each washing cycle, trained professionals visually inspect, and if needed, repair the garments or replace broken parts using genuine supplies. Customers can even report damage digitally using the “CWS Workwear Repair App”. In this way, the protective effect lasts for the entire lifespan of the garment.
More than meets the eye!
“Hidden Features will be our motto at the A+A trade fair. We will show what modern workwear really has to offer,” explains Hartmut Engler, CEO of CWS Workwear.
“For example, the seven safety standards that our Multinorm collections provide are invisible at first glance. The same goes for our comprehensive service with digital tools such as our CWS Workwear Repair App or the professional washing process. These hidden benefits (and features) make a decisive difference for workplace safety and efficiency,” Hartmut Engler points out. “Our collections combine highest safety standards with modern design and comfort. Because only clothing that people like wearing can fulfil its protective function optimally.”
