Sheet steel fire doors - advice, installation & maintenance

Fire doors made of sheet steel are characterised by their durability and robustness. Fire and smoke are retained for 30, 60 or 90 minutes. This means that escape and rescue routes remain usable even in an emergency and fire protection classified walls can meet the requirements. Steel fire doors are available in fire resistance classes T30, T60 and T90.

Functions and properties of steel fire doors:

  • fire-retardant (T30)
  • highly fire-retardant (T60)
  • fire-resistant (T90)
  • special design with smoke protection, thermal insulation, sound insulation & burglary protection (optionally translucent due to fire-resistant glazing)

CWS offers a wide portfolio of steel fire doors approved by the building authorities. You can choose between a 1-leaf or 2-leaf steel fire door. In addition, both standard dimensions and special designs are possible.

Furthermore, there is a choice between the following equipment variants:

  • flush or butt doors
  • various thresholds
  • various frames (corner, Swiss, block or perimeter frame)
  • various fittings and locks
  • Emergency exit and panic lock (according to standard EN 179/EN1125)

Steel fire doors have a powder coating, which can also be designed according to individual requirements (RAL painting) on request. A stainless steel version is also possible.
Furthermore, stainless steel fire doors can be installed in masonry, concrete or drywall. They are also suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
