The chemical / synthetic extinguishing agent Novec 1230 (FK-5-1-12) is liquid and becomes gaseous when it escapes from the extinguishing nozzles. The gas causes the heat energy to be absorbed and thus interrupts the combustion process. It is therefore particularly recommended for the protection of valuable objects such as server rooms, computer centres, measuring and control rooms as well as irreplaceable paper documents and cultural assets (archives, museums).

In case of fire, all persons present are first warned by visual and acoustic alarms. The gas is then distributed evenly throughout the room. Novec 1230 is residue-free Novec 1230 is stored in gas cylinders, requires little space and can be stored in the protected area. The gas is harmless to humans.

The Novec 1230 extinguishing system complies with the following regulations: VdS 2381, DIN EN 15004, ISO 14520, CEA 4045 and NFPA 2001.

Compared to inert gas extinguishing systems, Novec 1230 requires considerably less extinguishing agent, which means that shorter flooding times can be implemented. In addition, Novec 1230 is the most environmentally friendly extinguishing agent compared to other gaseous chemical extinguishing agents. It does not endanger the ozone layer and has a very low global warming potential, completely decomposing after only 5 days at the latest.
