House alarm system & fire warning system - advice, installation & maintenance
House alarm systems (HAA) and fire warning systems (BWA) serve to detect danger and warn people in the building in the event of a fire.
House alarm systems and fire warning systems are triggered automatically by smoke detectors or by actuating a blue manual call point (red manual call point in the case of fire alarm systems). They are wired or radio-networked. House alarm systems and fire warning systems are not connected to the fire brigade's transmission system. Nevertheless, the house alarm system and the fire warning system warn of fire or smoke at an early stage by means of acoustic and optical signals and indicate the location of the source of danger in the house alarm centre.
Difference between house alarm system, fire warning system and fire alarm system
The house alarm system and fire warning system inform persons present in case of fire. The house alarm system is independent of the power supply for 72 hours, the fire warning system for 12 hours. Both are not connected to the fire brigade. In contrast, the fire alarm system not only alerts the persons present, but at the same time automatically informs the fire brigade, which sends out to the scene of the fire.
Area of application of house alarm systems and fire warning systems
House alarm systems and fire warning systems are used where there is no direct requirement for a fire alarm system, but there are building law requirements for alarming. This can be in the following areas, for example:
- High-rise buildings
- Dormitories and accommodation facilities
- Sales premises
- Places of assembly
- Schools, day-care centres and sports facilities
