Why is the checking of fire protection facilities necessary?
Regular maintenance and inspection of technical systems - whether production, refrigeration or fire protection systems - is significant to maintain their functionality. It is not relevant whether the fire protection system is used regularly (like a fire door) or only in case of fire (like an extinguishing system). The background is that fire protection systems are exposed to temperature fluctuations, dust and dirt as well as general wear and tear. These can impair the functionality. Consequently, specifications, laws and standards regulate when and how a fire protection system must be maintained.

Responsibilities for the fire safety inspections
The building operator is responsible for carrying out maintenance on a fire protection system. Consequently, he is also liable if maintenance is not carried out and human life, the environment or property are injured or damaged as a result. No proof of maintenance means a violation of building law requirements and thus penal consequences!
