In the event of a fire, foam extinguishing systems generate large quantities of foam which not only extinguish the fire but also prevent further inflammation. The extinguishing agent is distributed via pipes, monitors, sprinklers, or nozzles. Foam extinguishing systems are particularly suitable for risk areas where the fire can spread very quickly, and toxic combustion gases can develop.

The extinguishing foam of foam extinguishing systems consists of water, fire extinguishing foam concentrate and air. It is lighter than oil, petrol or water and floats on liquid surfaces. The extinguishing foam has a cooling, suffocating, separating, covering, containing, and displacing effect. It reliably seals off the oxygen supply to the source of the fire and suffocates the flames.

With the foam extinguishing system, fires of fire classes A and B are extinguished quickly and reliably. The main areas of application for foam extinguishing systems are chemical industrial plants, waste incineration plants, refineries, aircraft hangars, logistics halls, coal silos as well as tank farms and storage facilities for hazardous substances, flammable liquids, tires, and plastics.

The foam extinguishing system is available in four variants:

4. High-pressure foam systems
