Emergency planning in the company

Minimize risks, increase safety, and avoid business interruptions with targeted emergency planning.

2 October 2025 Fire Safety

Accidents, fires, natural disasters, or technical failures—emergency situations often arise unexpectedly and can have far-reaching consequences for companies.

Whether it's the release of hazardous substances, a power outage, or the failure of operational infrastructure, the effects not only endanger employees, the environment, and the neighborhood, but in serious cases can also bring the entire business to a standstill.

Targeted emergency planning is therefore a fundamental part of preventive risk management.

What does professional emergency planning achieve?

Well-thought-out emergency planning helps you respond quickly, in a structured and efficient manner in the event of an emergency.

Potential hazards are identified in advance, responsibilities are clearly defined, and alarm procedures are documented. This saves valuable minutes—time that can be decisive for human lives, environmental protection, or the continued existence of the company's location.

Advantages of an emergency plan for companies:

  • Protection of employees, the environment, and the neighborhood
  • Minimization of economic damage
  • Safeguarding of reputation and trust
  • Basis for investment security
  • Support in complying with legal requirements and property insurance requirements

How to create an emergency plan

The creation of an emergency plan involves several clearly defined steps. CWS Fire Safety supports you with technical expertise and practical advice:

 (1) Introduction to the emergency plan
The introduction includes a cover page, a table of contents, explanations, and a legend. Depending on the property, additional content can be added individually.

 (2) Definition of relevant contact persons
Both operational managers (e.g., plant manager, fire safety officer, environmental officer) and external authorities (e.g., fire department, police, public order office) are listed by name and contact details.

 (3) Creation of hazard prevention plans
A separate hazard prevention plan is created for each emergency situation – e.g., in the event of:

  • Release of hazardous substances
  • Intrusion by unauthorized persons
  • Explosions or fires
  • Natural events such as heavy rain or snow load
  • Failure of operation-relevant media
  • Telephone threats of attacks

 (4) Revision and customization
On request, we can revise individual chapters (introduction, contact persons, emergency response plans) specifically according to your specifications.
