Ingo, service technician and training expert
"Passion for fire safety" is our series in which we introduce employees who live fire safety both professionally and privately. Today we are introducing Ingo. Ingo is one of the front runners in volunteer work; he has been working in the volunteer fire department for over 4️⃣ 0️⃣ years. He started at CWS Fire Safety in Bremen in 2️⃣ 0️⃣ 1️⃣ 0️⃣.
My path to the volunteer fire department came about because there is a volunteer fire department base where I live. I am an instructor there for the basic troop and respiratory protection course as well as an equipment manager for respiratory protection.
Career and tasks
I trained as an electrician 🔌 I worked in a company fire brigade 🚒 until I moved to CWS Fire Safety (then Dieker Brandschutz) 14 years ago. I train our fire safety assistants in theory and practice and regularly offer fire safety training 🧯 I also carry out the fire extinguisher maintenance🔧
Volunteering and job
I am a trainer in both areas and have a lot of experience in dealing with people. I know how to convey the 🗨️ topics to the participants in a practical way. I was also able to take part in the CWS Fire Safety training vehicle at the fire department's open 🧑🚒 day. There I offered 🔥 fire-fighting exercises so that people would lose their fear of using a🧯 fire extinguisher.
Volunteering is important, whether in the volunteer fire department or something else, but if you can combine volunteering with a job, it's particularly good 🫶 I've gained so much experience and the cohesion is good, which has an impact on both the volunteer work and the job.
