Our series of introductions of people who are involved with the 🚒 volunteer fire brigade and work at CWS Fire Safety continues - today with Jörg 🙂
Early enthusiasm
Jörg joined the volunteer fire brigade when he was just 14 years old, meaning he has been volunteering for 45 years (crazy 🎉). Even as a child, he was fascinated by the red vehicles 🚒 and the blue lights, and he found the job exciting and thrilling. "I was responsible for being a platoon leader for many years," says Jörg. "Some time ago, I decided to give younger comrades the chance to grow into this role. Despite this, I am still actively involved and go on missions."
Professional background
Jörg's commitment to the volunteer fire department has also influenced his professional career. As a trained electrician 🔌 and state-certified mechanical engineer specializing in production technology 👨🔧, he found his calling at CWS Fire Safety. In addition to conducting fire safety training courses 🧯, he also works as an external fire safety officer 🦺 for CWS Fire Safety customers. In both areas, he not only contributes his technical expertise, but also his experience from the fire department.
From several perspectives
"My work at CWS Fire Safety allows me to take the perspective of a customer and that of a fire department. This helps me to mediate between both parties, as in an inspection that I accompany as a fire safety officer. I also often show the perspective of a fire department during training to become a fire safety assistant, so that the participants get a comprehensive view of fire protection," explains fire safety officer Jörg.

Become a fire safety officer
Would you like to become a fire safety officer? We train our employees to become fire safety officers in our own training center, the "Fire Safety Academy". This course includes several modules in which you learn about legal principles, fire risks, fire protection technology and organizational fire protection. Practical experience, such as that which Jörg has gained through his work in the volunteer fire department, is a great advantage. After successfully completing the course, you can work for customers as a fire safety officer for CWS Fire Safety.
