Ulrich, Managing Director of CWS Fire Safety
When asked "Uli, can you actually handle tools?" our managing director Dr. Ulrich Schild initially gave him a skeptical look, but his love of challenges was awakened and he answered "Yes". (Okay, challenge accepted 😉)
A large sign with our CWS Fire Safety logo was still missing in the CWS Fire Safety office in Duisburg. (So that will be his task!) He came into the office with all his belongings, a ladder, spirit level and various tools.
Precision work with tools
Step: The two mounting brackets had to be attached to the 2 m long sign. The exact positions were measured with a pencil and CWS Fire Safety ruler and the fastening was attached. (OK, he got there 👍🏻)
Step: Then it got a bit more difficult. The sign had to be attached in the middle above our sofa, not too high and not too low, but above all straight. As it turned out, our office floor has a preference for sloping. (It's commendable that he noticed this when measuring the drill holes). So we had to do some calculations, and our number lover immediately felt a sense of happiness (🙃)
- Step: After the markings for the drill holes were made with a CWS Fire Safety pencil, things got really serious. The hammer drill had to be used! To be on the safe side, I first used the 5 mm drill bit, then again with the 6 mm drill bit to make the hole the perfect size. Put in the dowel and screw and then the truth came out! Will the sign hold or not?
Joint performance – the sign hangs
Last step: Our second managing director, Peter Stahl, gave us active support and we hung up the sign together. (Oh, what a beautiful symbolic image of how the two of them are working together to advance CWS Fire Safety) To prove that everything is now safe and secure and that you can sit underneath the sign, the two of them had a quick chat on the sofa.
Conclusion:
- One sign is hanging and straight.
- The other sign came out healthy and undamaged.
- We now have a nice office corner (thank you! 🙏)
- And yes, he mastered the challenge!
