Insight into the life of a working student in marketing
Aishat has been part of the CWS Fire Safety team as a working student in Marketing since December 2023. She works in the marketing team and provides support primarily in employer branding and personnel marketing. She helps us create career pages, designs job adverts for social media and conducts interviews for our employee stories. (Today she's sitting on the other side for this interview 😉)
Working day as a marketing student trainee and integration into the team
"I always start my day by checking my emails and planning my tasks for the day", says our working student in Marketing, describing her typical working day. She also liaises with her team leader on a weekly basis. "Right from the start, I was warmly welcomed and given an important task, so I immediately felt part of the team", she recalls. By attending team meetings and being involved in ongoing projects, she quickly felt integrated and supported. "It was a great feeling to take on responsibility so quickly", adds our marketing working student.
Job interview: a positive start as a marketing working student
"The interview was a very pleasant experience", she reports. "Despite my initial nervousness, I quickly felt at ease. We were on first-name terms straight away and the interview was relaxed and informative". The cordial atmosphere and transparent communication about the feedback period were particularly positive for her: "It was nice to see that CWS Fire Safety met the deadlines, which I had experienced differently with other companies."
Why CWS Fire Safety?
"The job advert for a working student in marketing immediately appealed to me. The tasks sounded varied and exciting", she explains. "The flexible working hours and the opportunity to work digitally from home were crucial for me." She particularly appreciated the fact that her wishes were taken seriously: "I was able to adjust my working hours at short notice and also direct my work more towards the creative side during my time as a working student, which was very important to me." She describes the working atmosphere at CWS Fire Safety as "friendly, collegial and supportive". Aishat adds: "Everyone is willing to help, and that makes working here as a marketing student trainee really enjoyable."
Highlights and challenges as a working student in marketing
"I particularly enjoy the creative work", says Aishat. "Creating the careers pages was my highlight, but I also like the freedom to develop new ideas and I love conducting the employee interviews for our employee stories." The biggest challenge as a working student in marketing is currently balancing her studies, work and private life: "I'm currently writing my Master's thesis and finding the right balance is a challenge. But I see it as a learning process to work on my time management."
Outlook and tips for future marketing working students
Aishat would like to complete her degree this year and continue working in marketing. She also has a message for future working students in marketing. "My tips for future working students in marketing: be open to new tasks and be well organised", she advises.
