Powder fire extinguishers - advice, installation & maintenance
The CWS powder fire extinguisher quickly and reliably quenches fires of classes A, B, C and D.
- Fire class A: solid, predominantly organic substances, e.g. wood, paper, textiles.
- Fire class B: liquid substances or substances that become liquid, e.g. varnish, tar, petrol
- Fire class C: gases e.g. natural gas, methane, propane, hydrogen
- Fire class D: Metals
Powder fire extinguishers can be purchased in ABC powder fire extinguisher, BC powder fire extinguisher and D powder fire extinguisher versions. All powder extinguishers are ready for immediate use.
The CWS powder fire extinguisher is a continuous pressure extinguisher with a choice of a hand lever, impact button or semi-automatic function. If you buy a fire extinguisher, you can also choose between a portable and a mobile version. In addition, you can select between a continuous pressure or a rechargeable extinguisher.
The CWS powder fire extinguisher is suitable for use at an ambient temperature of -30 °C to +60 °C. In addition, it can be used on electrical installations of up to 1,000 volts (minimum distance 1 m). For maximum reliability and safety, all CWS powder fire extinguishers are state-approved and tested (DIN EN 3, GS and CE).
Application note: We recommend not to use powder fire extinguishers in living rooms but only in open outdoor areas (e.g. car parks, garages, etc.), as the extinguishing powder is very fine and spreads in small cracks. In addition, the powder cloud can restrict visibility.
Please note: Fire extinguishers in commercial and public buildings and areas must be maintained at regular intervals. According to DIN 14 406, this must be carried out at least every two years by an expert such as CWS Fire Safety. The best way to do this is to use the digital fire protection file from CWS Fire Safety: It shows you at any time which fire extinguishers you have and when maintenance is due. CWS also offers a convenient all-in-one service: We supply, install, and maintain your powder fire extinguishers.

If you have more fire extinguishers or other fire protection equipment, we will come directly to you as usual.
- For fire classes A, B, C, D
- Frost-proof, also suitable for garage or outdoor use
- For electrical installations up to 1,000 volts (minimum distance 1 m)
Due to the exchangeable extinguishing agent, the CWS powder extinguisher can be reused and is therefore resource-saving. In addition, the powder is processed in a special recycling process and can later be used as plant fertiliser for agriculture.
