Fire protection bulkhead
Highlights
- Protection against fire spread for at least 30 or 90 minutes
Fire protection bulkhead - advice, implementation & documentation
Fire barriers separate individual fire compartments, thus preventing the spread of smoke and fire and keeping protected areas such as escape and rescue routes free. For this purpose, openings for cables, pipes and other media must be sealed off in terms of fire protection.
How fire barriers work
The principle of fire protection works in such a way that a fire protection compound expands under high heat (intumescence) and in this way seals gaps. This prevents fire from spreading through pipes, cables and other media for at least 30 or 90 minutes.
Variants of fire barriers
- Cable penetration seals: Protection by means of plate bulkheads, combination bulkheads, cushion bulkheads, mortar bulkheads, foam bulkheads and fire protection blocks.
- Pipe penetration seals: Protection by combination bulkhead, mortar bulkhead, sleeves and pipe bandages.
- Cladding/enclosure: Cladding of fire protection equipment.
These fire barriers are available in fire resistance classes F30 and F90.
All-round carefree package: CWS carries out the consultation, planning and implementation of the fire protection. Finally, you will receive documentation on request with photos and descriptions of the individual fire barriers. This gives you and your insurance company the certainty that the fire protection has been professionally installed and that your property is up to date.
