Powder fire extinguishers

Powder extinguishers are among the most powerful fire extinguishers and reliably combat fires in fire classes A, B, and C:

• Fire class A: Solid, predominantly organic materials (e.g., wood, paper, textiles)
• Fire class B: Liquid or liquefying materials (e.g., paints, tar, gasoline)
• Fire class C: Gases (e.g., natural gas, methane, propane, hydrogen)

Note: Powder extinguishers are available in ABC or BC versions. ABC powder extinguishers cover all three fire classes, while BC powder extinguishers are only suitable for fire classes B and C.

However, in indoor areas with sensitive infrastructure (e.g., server rooms, IT, machine parks), alternative extinguishing agents such as foam or water extinguishers should be preferred. In outdoor areas, warehouses, or production halls, powder extinguishers impress with their high extinguishing power and fast area coverage.
