Smoke protection pressure system - advice, installation & maintenance
A smoke protection pressure system (also called SÜLA® system / safety overpressure ventilation system), prevents the penetration of smoke in defined areas.
A smoke protection pressure system is a special blower that forces large amounts of air into individual building areas. It is triggered either by smoke detectors or by using the emergency release button. In case of a triggering, the smoke protection pressure system generates an overpressure of 15-50 Pa (Pascal). This prevents the spread of smoke in the escape and rescue routes. Furthermore, the smoke protection pressure system has an electrical control with emergency power supply or sprinkler circuit.
Areas of application of a smoke protection pressure system
Smoke protection pressure systems / SÜLA® systems are mainly used in safety-relevant rooms. These include escape and rescue routes such as stairwells, escape tunnels and fire brigade lifts. These must remain smoke-free in case of fire.
