CWS Life Hacks conditions of participation and privacy information

Conditions of participation

CWS International GmbH, Franz-Haniel-Platz 6-8, 47119 Duisburg, Germany (hereinafter "CWS") invites all eligible participants to take part in the "CWS Life-Hacks" competition on the website www.cws.com/life-hacks in the period from 12.04.2021, 12:00, to 12.08.2021, 12:00 (closing date). To enter, please fill in the mandatory contact details (personal details and email) correctly and completely and upload your idea on the topic of "Life Hacks" in the form of a text, optionally supplemented by a photo and/or video. Each participant may submit a maximum of three ideas.

For the "Life Hacks" idea to be considered, it must include original and sustainable, environmentally friendly tips, tricks and hints for solving everyday problems.

All natural persons who have reached the age of 18 are eligible to participate. All persons involved in the conception and implementation of the competition are not eligible to participate. CWS reserves the right to exclude persons from participation at its own discretion if there are justified reasons, such as for example

  • the suspicion of manipulation in connection with access to and/or the implementation of the competition,
  • in the event of violations of the conditions of participation,
  • in the event of unfair trading,
  • in the event of false or misleading information in connection with participation in the competition.

Attractive non-cash prizes await the winners. The first 250 participants whose idea has been considered can choose between one of the following non-cash prizes:

  1. One CWS sweatshirt (as shown), available in sizes S, M, L or XL or
  2. A CWS doormat in your own personalised design (according to the participant's design specifications or submitted design), insofar as this is feasible in terms of production.

Cash payment of the prize is not possible. The chosen prize will be sent to the winner by post/courier.

After uploading, the ideas are collected internally. The ideas received will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting of at least 2 members ofCWS/Corporate Communications for Life Hack suitability with a special focus on environmental friendliness and sustainability. If the idea meets the criteria listed, it will be taken into consideration when determining the winners.

The winners will also be determined by the expert jury. The winners are the first 250 participants, based on all entries up to the closing date, in chronological order, whose idea is taken into account. If the maximum number of winners has not yet been reached, winners will be determined on the tenth working day of each month until the closing date.

The respective winners will be notified by CWS by email after they have been determined. If it is not possible to contact the winner or if the winner does not respond within 3 weeks of being contacted, whereby the reasons for the failure to respond must lie with the respective participant, the claim to the prize for this participant shall lapse and CWS shall be entitled to reallocate the prize.

There is no entitlement to publication.

­In the event that the idea in its description is copyrightable, the participants shall transfer to CWS the non-exclusive­, irrevocable, royalty-free ­right of use to ­the idea in its description­, unrestricted in terms of time, space and content. The granting of the right of use includes the exploitation in tangible and intangible form within the scope of the usual CWS business for all types of use. It is intended, for example, to use the idea for advertising purposes for corporate, image and product advertising (e.g. use on advertising material, on the Internet, use at ­public product presentations), for press work in the CWS area (e.g. newspaper or online publications), on social media platforms such as Facebook and for other ­branding­­ ­­measures (e.g. ­at trade fairs­). Also included is the right to edit the idea in its description at its own discretion or to have it edited by third parties or to transform and develop it in any other way (e.g. creation of a CWS-own video clip based on the idea in its description) and to ­use performance results created in this ­way in the same way as the original version. Whether and how further exploitation takes place within the scope of the right of use granted shall be the sole responsibility of CWS.

All information in the context of persons, professions and target groups always refers to m/f/d, regardless of the wording.

By entering the competition, the entrant agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions set out.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.

The legal process is excluded.

 

Privacy information Life Hacks competition

CWS International GmbH (hereinafter "CWS") is delighted that you have decided to take part in the CWS Life Hacks competition and would like to share your ideas with us in the form of tips, tricks and hints for solving everyday problems. Ideas are something great and we would like to give you the space to share them with us.

Now, as the CWS, we would first like to provide some further information that you should know before you participate:

  1. Participation in this competition is voluntary.
  2. If you decide to take part in this competition, by sending your idea to CWS you consent to the processing of your personal data, i.e. surname, first name and e-mail (all mandatory details) and, if you wish to provide this information as an option, employer details (CWS or non-CWS) and country.
  3. Responsible for the processing of your personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) is the

  5. The processing of your personal data is based on the consent that you declare by sending your idea to CWS by the act of sending. The legal basis is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.
  6. Your personal data will only be used in the context of this competition. In the context of data economy, your personal data will only be processed at the point of entry CWS. If you are one of the winners, CWS will contact you and agree with you which prize you would like to have and where your prize should be sent. In this case, your address will be processed in order to send you the prize. Your first name, surname and address may also be passed on to the shipper and carrier for the purpose of sending the prize. This is done on our behalf.
  7. Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage no longer applies. Storage may also take place if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in Union regulations, laws or other provisions to which the person responsible is subject. Data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a necessity for the continued storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.
  8. You have the option to revoke your consent to the processing of personal data at any time. If you contact us by e-mail, you can object to the storage of your personal data in connection with this competition at any time for the future. In such a case, the conversation about the competition cannot be continued. To revoke your consent and object to the storage of your data, you can use the e-mail address used to contact us or the e-mail address of the data protection officer.
  9. You have the following rights in relation to the personal data concerning you:

    You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.
