Today is Earth Overshoot Day, the day when our planet's resources are used up for this year. Starting today, the consumption of resources is at the expense of future generations. The goal is to move Earth Overshoot Day as far back as possible – in the best case to December. That is why sustainable action and work is of great importance. For CWS, this means in concrete terms: Think Circular! Keeping products in the cycle for as long as possible and using materials that can be reused afterwards wherever possible.
One way to push Earth Overshoot Day back is to reduce greenhouse gases. CWS is already making a valuable contribution here with its service in the circular model for workwear. An internal analysis has shown that the CO2 emissions of rented workwear, including transport, are over 50% lower than those of purchased solutions. Worn and broken parts are repaired or replaced with second-hand goods. After all, the fewer products that have to be produced, the more sustainable the value chain becomes. With over 2.5 million repaired parts per year in Germany alone, CWS actively contributes to a better climate every day – also on today's Earth Overshoot Day.
