Dreieich, September 25, 2024 – CWS Workwear and CWS Hygiene celebrate the launch of their joint Responsibility Report 2023/24. The report showcases the companies’ measures towards their responsibility for their operations and how these affect people, society and the planet. Responsibility is at the heart of their business concepts and they strive for a circular economy that makes a positive impact on the environment.
CWS Workwear has set itself the ambitious target to reduce its CO2 emissions up to 50% by 2030 (with 2021 as the base year).
CWS Workwear: Following a circular business model and redefining sustainability
“Our circular economy approach is part of our company’s DNA – and we believe that acting sustainable and responsible goes hand in hand. We are continuously striving to continue optimising our environmental impact by minimising our carbon footprint and advancing our circular business model and “Workwear as a Service” further. The CWS Workwear Responsibility Report 2023/24 transparently communicates our efforts to a greener and more responsible future”, says Hartmut Engler, CEO at CWS Workwear.
CWS Workwear’s strategy toward sustainability follows a three-layer principle. While reporting, knowledge transfer, and communication are considered the first layer, the fields of action for sustainability mark the second layer. The third layer sets ambitious goals to turn the strategy into real results.
“The report truly marks a key milestone in our transformation towards a holistic ESG (Environmental/Social/Governance) management. Building on 125 years of experience in the circular business, CWS Workwear is committed to responsible business practices. We drive the green transformation of our logistics and laundries, setting an example for a responsible supply chain management, increase the offer of sustainable products and go for close-the-loop initiatives” says Leonie Biesen, Sustainability Lead at CWS Workwear.
