About the role

For our CWS Cleanrooms organisation in Belgium and the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Protection Manager (HSE Manager BNL).

In this role, you will provide strong leadership on all HSE-related matters and play a key role in building and sustaining a true safety culture across the organisation. You will work closely with operational leadership teams and report directly to the QESH Manager Europe, contributing to both regional and European QESH objectives.

Mission

  • To provide leadership on health, safety and environmental protection matters to the CWS Cleanrooms organization in Belgium & Netherlands 

  • To build a true safety culture at CWS Cleanrooms BNL, and ensure excellence in related processes and behaviours 

  • To hold responsibility of the HSE-related aspects of CWS Cleanrooms entity certifications

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of a safety management system at CWS Cleanrooms BNL 

  • In cooperation with responsible operational leaders, support and drive the completion and keeping up-to-date of necessary risk assessments 

  • Identify higher-risk tasks and, in cooperation with responsible operational leaders, support and drive the deployment of additional safety processes as needed (e. g. last-minute risk assessments, high-risk checklists, permit-to-work, etc.) 

  • In cooperation with responsible operational leaders, support and drive adequate management of hazardous chemicals, including relevant data sheets, risk assessments, and operational procedures and instructions 

  • In cooperation with responsible operational leaders, support and drive adequate maintenance and necessary verifications of all types of equipment in use (including electrical equipment) 

  • Provide consultancy to operational leaders for the specification of equipment and machinery to be deployed into operational use 

  • In cooperation with responsible operations leaders, sustain and continuously improve the safety observation reporting process, including the monitoring of safety observation completion, and communication of completed safety observations 

  • In cooperation with responsible operations leaders, deploy, sustain and continuously improve safety audit processes, including the monitoring of audit findings and execution of toolbox talks 

  • In cooperation with responsible operations leaders, support, drive and execute safety training courses as required 

  • In cooperation with responsible operations leaders, support and drive fast reporting and investigation of lost-time accidents and high-risk incidents, including deployment and completion of resulting countermeasures 

  • Lead the continuous improvement of processes, build a lean, value-focussed process framework for HSE 

Profile (background & skills)

  • Relevant HSE qualifications (preventieadviseur level 2 or higher, VCA) 

  • Bachelor of Engineering or similar degree preferred 

  • At least five years’ experience in building safety culture within an international organisation exceeding 250 employees 

  • Experience with continuous improvement cultures and tools preferred 

  • English and Dutch language required 

  • Familiar with Safety ladder culture, Behaviour based Safety
