Dreieich, February 18, 2026 CWS Workwear, a leading provider of Workwear as a Service, has achieved the EcoVadis Gold status for the first time at the CWS Workwear group level, and thus ranked among the top five percent of companies assessed worldwide. For CWS Workwear, EcoVadis is an external and important indicator of the effectiveness of its ESG strategy, underlining its role as a leading Workwear as a Service provider with customised, stylish, long-lasting workwear, encompassing more than a century of innovation and service.

Top performance in environment and procurement

This year's ranking shows a significant improvement for CWS Workwear in all four assessment criteria compared to the previous year. The company has made strong progress particularly in the areas of environmental and sustainable procurement. The EcoVadis Gold status stands for reliable supply chain management with clearly defined standards, transparency and long-term partnerships.

“The EcoVadis Gold status shows that our processes, data quality, and sustainability measures are already at a very high and strong level,” explains Leonie Biesen, Sustainability Lead at CWS Workwear. Hartmut Engler, CEO of CWS Workwear, adds: "At the same time, the status provides valuable insights that help drive further progress particularly in the areas of formal commitments and ethics. This is very important to us, as we see sustainability as an integral part of our business model and as a clear responsibility towards our customers, employees, and partners."

EcoVadis: Recognised sustainability standard

EcoVadis is one of the world's leading sustainability assessment platforms for companies and has already assessed and evaluated the sustainability activities of over 150,000 international companies. The assessment covers four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The Gold rating creates transparency and trust and significantly reduces the audit and verification effort in supply chains. For customers, this means greater planning certainty, reliable ESG-related metrics, and strengthened resilience across the entire value chain, even in an increasingly regulated and dynamic market environment.
