Silver shines bright too!
The CWS Group receives a silver rating from EcoVadis, placing it among the top 9 percent of companies of comparable size and industry. EcoVadis provides a platform where ESG criteria for companies are reviewed and evaluated and thus made comparable. ESG refers to environmental, social and corporate governance. Within the framework of ESG audits, corporate social and environmental responsibility are examined and evaluated. The EcoVadis rating process queries a large number of projects and their status, which are then converted into an evidence-based assessment with easy-to-read scorecards. Based on the score, i.e. the final number of points achieved, ratings are then assigned.
Strengths as well as areas for development are identified. The CWS Group's strengths lie above all in the area of resource conservation with regard to water and carbon dioxide and transparent reporting, the range of sustainable products and services and the company's numerous recycling activities. "We are pleased that our strategy has been assessed as sustainable by an external and independent audit. Our goal is to close as many product cycles as possible and thus meet the global challenges of sustainability. Our efforts are summarised in our guiding principle Think Circular. We accordingly take them into account in our activities on a daily basis," says Dr. Maren Otte, Group Director of Communications and Responsibility.
