The automatic door is an automated door with swing or sliding door drive. Automatic doors open and close automatically due to a motion detector or push button. In combination with smoke switches and additional equipment, automatic door drives can also be mounted on fire doors.

They are often used in entrance areas of office buildings, shopping centres, hospitals or access for the disabled, as well as in stairwells or garage crossings. Furthermore, automatic doors react to approaching persons. In addition, automatic door systems have sufficient closing force and, in the event of fire and reliably secure escape and rescue routes in the event of a fire.

For an automatic door with swing door drive, there is a choice between a 1-leaf or 2-leaf door. With additional equipment, swing door drives can be mounted on fire doors as well as smoke protection doors. For the variant with sliding door drive, an automatic sliding door with 1-leaf or 2-leaf elements or a telescopic sliding door is available. Personnel detection of the automatic door is ensured by radar detectors, manual switches, light curtains or sensor strips.

Maintenance of an automatic door

Maintenance of an automatic door is essential. Automatic door systems are subject to an annual inspection. Automatic sliding door systems in the escape route area even have to be serviced every six months.
