1.      5 million garments repaired
To us, "Think Circular" is more than just a promise: We use sustainable and durable materials and strive to increase the number of repaired products. This keeps our products in circulation for as long as possible. Did you know? For example, we repair about 5 million garments a year that would otherwise have to be discarded. Read more about sustainability at CWS in our >>> Sustainability Report.

2.      Keeping an eye on the entire supply chain
Sustainability is becoming an increasingly important topic among consumers, investors and in politics. In this context, it is crucial for companies to pursue sustainability goals not only in-house, but to keep an eye on the entire supply chain. The Italian textile specialist Klopman is a true pioneer in sustainable fabric production - and therefore an important partner for CWS' service offerings. Want to know what makes Klopman so convincing and what the collaboration looks like in practice? Read our >>> news article.

3.      We received gold!
The CWS Group received a Gold Rating from EcoVadis, placing it among the top 5 percent of companies of comparable size and industry. Compared to the year before, CWS rose from the silver to the gold medal. You can read about the areas in which the company has improved most in our website news >>> here.

4.      What actually happens to our old discarded CWS workwear?
Thanks to our service model, the textiles are always returned to us. Our current recycling rate is at 55%. We are presenting one of the most exiting projects to you: For 15 years, our workwear has been upcycled by the Berlin-based designer Daniel Kroh. He uses about 2.5 tons of our discarded textiles for this fashion every year. Watch the >>> video for more! You can also learn more about the cooperation >>> here.

5.      Would you also like to save on waste?
Dry your hands with cotton! Because: CWS cotton towel rolls account for 95% less waste than paper towels. A cotton towel roll is a 100% natural product and therefore 100% biodegradable. During its lifetime, one roll replaces about 22,000 paper towels. That's easily more than 20 kg of paper waste. In comparison, a cotton roll generates less than 2 kg of waste and is 100% reused. For example, we turn them into mops. Look >>> here for more information.

Sustainability is deeply rooted in CWS’ DNA and plays a big role in its daily business. We are looking forward to 2023 and to upcoming sustainability initiatives and projects!
